Popular racing celebrity Derek Thompson is hosting Plumpton Racecourse’s Fashion competitions for the best dressed racegoers at this year’s Ladies Day extravaganza on Sunday 11th May.
All eyes will be on the female racegoers for one of the most watchable events of the year after the Course opens at 11.30. The competition will be fierce to find the most stylish ladies, men and children – with the Best Dressed Lady in line to win a 2 night stay with dinner at Buxted Park Hotel and £300 cash. Other great prizes for our best dressed racegoers are being provided by Sussex based businesses Molly Dishwasher & Phase Photographic.
This year there is a plethora of entertainment across the day including 7 exciting races, fashion competitions and live music from The Starrlite Beatles capturing the excitement of the early rock ‘n’ roll days through to the classic sing-along anthems of the Beatles’ final years.
At only £10 for Adults Ladies Day is a superb all-family day out as accompanied kids under 18 go free. Underpinning this is a funfair, along with pony racing and a best dressed child competition running in tandem with the famous traditional Plumpton Sussex family atmosphere. The finals of the South East area Point to Point pony racing series are also held at the end of the afternoon where the star jockeys of the future are put through their paces.
On-site catering is superb and available at lots of different levels – from the opportunity to bring your own picnic into the centre of the course to an unforgettable Racing Glitz & Glamour package in our themed Pavilion Marquee that includes a meet and greet from the hunky Firemen Models, your table for the day, hospitality enclosure badge, racecard, welcome drink, delicious 3 course served lunch with coffee and chocolates and an Ice Cream bar. There are entertainments including live music, and a private lawn adjoining the racecourse, located opposite the final fence.
