Brighton Film School have announced that they will be opening a new premises from 1st July 2015, in a specially designed facility on London Road, Brighton.
This outstanding new facility will enhance the reputation of Brighton Film School, already in the top-5 in the UK, as a world-class teaching institution for young people and professionals who want to enter the British film industry.
Brighton Film School will continue to offer courses at degree level, professional diploma, evening classes and Summer schools in filmmaking, set design for film, screenwriting, editing, direction and cinematography. This new expansion will welcome over 250 full-time and 250 part-time students a year, contributing significantly to the local area in terms of positive economic impact and artistic merit. The move is a significant boost for the city’s digital provision.

This is a great achievement and these premises will be a stunning new home for our wonderful film school – delivering world class education and training for those who wish to work in the film industry. “

The last three-plus years since we re-launched Brighton Film School have been an amazing journey and since we bought we have seen massive growth and development of new courses, more students and the development of a very high quality training school for the film industry. We were already recognised as one of the top film schools in the UK and now this takes us to the next level and we look forward to welcoming the next generation of filmmakers.”
This exciting new home for the film school will offer over 5,000 square feet of training space and has been developed to include a brand new film set with space for multiple rigs, a private cinema screening room, specialist film training rooms equipped with a full Mac suite, student learning lounge, art direction suite, outside space and an open reception area. Work has begun immediately on the refurbishments in a building that has been vacant for 20 years, with the new cohort of Filmmaking HND, Set Design for Film and TV HND and Cinematography and Directing Diploma students set to start their studies there in September 2015.
As well as the regular teaching team, who all work in the British film industry, Brighton Film School welcomes guest lecturers from industry. In the last 12 months they have received visits from Screenwriter David Scinto (Sexy Beast, Gangster No.1), Director Declan Lowney (Alpha Papa, Father Ted), Cinematographer Brian Tufano (Billy Elliot, Trainspotting), Producer Andrew MacDonald (Trainspotting, Last King of Scotland), Filmmaker Andrew Kotting (Ivul, In the Wake of DeadDad), Producer Michelle D’Acosta (Biggie and Tupac), Music Video Director W.I.Z (Oasis, Kings of Leon) and many others.
Brighton Film School is a specialist, independent training facility located in central Brighton. The school offers 2-year degree level programmes in Filmmaking HNC/HND and Art Direction and Production Design HNC/HND, as well as an industry recognised Cinematography and Directing Diploma. Brighton Film School also offers evening classes in Filmmaking, Screenwriting, Art Direction and Editing as well as courses for young filmmakers and Summer School.
