I have over ten years’ experience in business to business marketing, working across a wide variety of products and services from manufacturing, software, technology through to digital business services. I have been lucky to work on brands in Europe and North America, learning the different requirements and style that each audience demands. I set up Effective Marketing & PR Ltd to work with SMEs, helping them to implement a successful marketing strategy to deliver return on investment and growth.
In my spare time I decided to make a big lifestyle change over the last few years. I called it a day on my smoking habit of 15 years and decided that it was time to get fit. This was by no means as easy as that sentence makes it sound but 3 years on I am still amazed at just how much of a positive impact getting fit has had on my general well-being. I kick myself for not doing it sooner.
I know just how daunting it is to turn up to a new class, not sure of what to expect and worrying that you are signing up to 60 minutes of red-faced humiliation, being unable to breathe. In reality though there is a type of exercise for everyone no matter what age, gender or fitness level you are, it’s just a matter of finding something which is fun and makes you feel good. It definitely should not be a chore!
In my column I will be taking part in as wide a variety of exercises and activities as I can find then telling you exactly what the reality entails – you can decide for yourself if it’s something you fancy giving a try. I hope you find it interesting and if there are any classes you would like to learn more about then feel free to make suggestions and I’ll be the guinea pig.
