Members of the Eastbourne Model Power Boat Club visited Eastbourne lifeboat station on Sunday to meet with the crew and present a cheque for £250 which had been raised by members’ donations at various events throughout the year.
The group were treated to home-made cakes courtesy of Jill Scott-Taggart, chair of fundraisers, and chatted to some of the lifeboat crew following their weekly training exercises afloat on the station’s all-weather lifeboat Diamond Jubilee. David Hedges, Chairman of the club then presented the cheque to Jill and Lifeboat Operations Manager Carl Pocock. Carl, in gratefully accepting the donation on behalf of the station said the money would go towards crew training and station equipment.
