Dress for comfort at Christmas

A very Merry Christmas to you gorgeous lot! I hope that Santa brings you exactly what you’ve asked for (you HAVE sent your letter to him, I hope?) and that next year turns out to be even better!

In anticipation of eating enormous amounts of turkey, Christmas pudding, chocolates and roast potatoes (but not necessarily in that order!) on Christmas Day, can I strongly suggest that you ditch the figure-hugging party frock you thought you might wear to the family ‘do’ and don something with a ‘comfortable’ waist instead?

Are you aware of the 4 necessaries of looking good?

  1. The right colour for your skin tone
  2. The correct style for your body shape, scale and personality
  3. The most appropriate outfit for the occasion and number 4 is the one I’d like you to concentrate on here:
  4. The most comfortable thing you can find – but that also meets the other three points above!

You can always cover up the lumpy waist with a pretty top, a cardigan or some Steampunk corsets and dresses.

Remember that the most important part of your look is happening around your shoulders, neck and face. That’s where people will be looking at you so make sure that your hair will pass muster, that you have on the finest make-up look for your skin tone, and that your lipstick is the best in your collection.

Why not glam up the whole look with some dangerous earrings and perhaps a necklace:

  • Dramatics could go for the works here and choose large diamante pieces
  • If you’re feeling really outrageous (and what better time of year to go over the top?) Creatives could choose some Santa Claus earrings that light up!
  • Some oversized wooden or shell jewellery will suit Naturals
  • Classics and Eurochics will both look fabulous in elegant pearls
  • Romantics will feel totally feminine with pretty earrings, necklace and bracelet in delicately-coloured gemstones

Comfort is the key on Christmas Day. I do hope that you manage to look gorgeous and still cope with the after effects of too many sprouts!
