Entertainment legend celebrates 50 years and a new album with Worthing concert

Entertainment legend Tony Christie is approaching his 50th anniversary in the music industry with a tour which visits Worthing on July 2.

In addition to the tour, Tony has released a new album, Now’s The Time!, which features music from Tony’s soulful, musical roots and includes collaborations with artists such as Jarvis Cocker and Roisin Murphy. The live show will include tracks from the new album along with all the hits and songs which Tony Christie so famous.

The tracks from Now’s The Time! are a nod to Johnny Cash and Spaghetti Westerns and reflect Tony’s current sound, recorded with producer Richard Barrett from All Seeing I.

The British singer has also had Top Twenty hits all around the world with Las Vegas, I Did What I Did For Maria, Avenues and Alleyways, Walk Like a Panther, Every Word She Said and Is This the Way to Amarillo which sold over one and a half million copies. On its re-release in 2005 to raise money for the Comic Relief charity it reached number one for seven weeks with the biggest sales for a number one for the year and is still the biggest selling single of the century.

Most recently Tony fulfilled his life-long dream to appear in the West End in Dreamboats & Petticoats and combines his love for theatre and music in his 50th anniversary tour.
