There are so many procedures on the market for various symptoms that it can be hard to know which one to choose. Your initial port of call should be a consultation with your surgeon who can offer advice and treatment options that would be best suited to your condition.

However, to gain insight into the options available
a little knowledge of Genuine Dermaroller could
prove to be extremely beneficial.

Genuine Dermaroller Therapy is an advanced micro-medical skin-needling procedure that stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely, creating smoother, brighter, healthier and younger looking skin. It can significantly improve the appearance of acne scars, aged and sun damaged skin, fine lines and wrinkles and stretch marks.

After the procedure your body will start to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface in the dermis. It can take up to six weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen but the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and long lasting enhancement.

Mrs Geraldine Weaver had the procedure with Mr Paul Banwell, a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at McIndoe Surgical Centre in East Grinstead and said “Everything was explained really well before I had my first treatment. My skin had a lot of fine lines and felt saggy with age.”

After an initial three treatments the appearance of her skin is much improved, with a better tone and a much healthier glow about it.

Genuine Dermaroller – the facts

Genuine Dermaroller Therapy can significantly improve the appearance of
•    Acne scars
•    Aged and sun damaged skin
•    Facial and décolleté lines and wrinkles
•    Stretch marks

Using a Genuine Dermaroller medical device to produce thousands of micro-medical needle-columns in the skin, each column will penetrate into the dermis and will be approximately 0.1mm in width. The column will close rapidly enabling the skin to recover quickly, often the same day. A topical anaesthetic cream will be used to numb the skin making the procedure comfortable and it will normally take up to 30 minutes for the cream to take effect and another 20 minutes for the procedure itself.

After the procedure your body will start to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface in the dermis. This takes time as new collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated and blood supply is enhanced. It can take up to six weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and long lasting enhancement.

You will normally be advised to have three sessions of Dermaroller with approximately six weeks between them, and for acne scarring more sessions may be required.

Immediately after having Dermaroller you will look as though you have moderate sunburn and your skin may feel warm and tighter than usual. This will start to subside after 1 to 2 hours and will normally recover within the same day with only slight redness the following day.

It is recommended to use tepid water to cleanse the face until the redness has gone, and dry gently, and always make sure you r hands are clean when touching the treated area. It is also advisable that make up is not applied for 12 hours after the procedure, and if you will be in the daylight immediately after the procedure then a sunscreen of SPF 50 will need to be used.
