VOLUNTEERS are wanted to take a weekly walk on the wild side and help with conservation at West Sussex County Council’s Buchan Country Park, Crawley.

Countryside Ranger Tom Burns said: “We run a volunteer group every Thursday, starting at 10am, to tackle a range of tasks to help wildlife and conservation.

“No experience is necessary – all you need are some old clothes and sturdy boots. We provide the tools and safety equipment.

“There is always chances to relax, with a hot drink and biscuits – but please bring your own lunch.”

Deputy County Council Leader Lionel Barnard, Cabinet Member responsible for the environment, said: “This is an excellent opportunity for people to make new friends, while at the same time making a valuable contribution to the environment and our wildlife.”
