Casualty’s Rebecca Wheatley stars in a one-woman show by Girls Night and Where the Heart Is writer Louise Roche which visits Worthing’s Pavilion Theatre on February 25.
Rebecca Wheatley stars as Barbara in the play which was partly inspired by a true story uncovered by Louise Roche while she researched material for a television documentary. Louise has woven it into the play in which Barbara has survived her 50th birthday and sets out to prove there is plenty of fun available to anyone who has also celebrated such a significant milestone.
Rebecca says: “I love it, love it, love it. The writing is so honest and painfully funny that the reaction we get from the audience is pretty unique. They really connect with the character Barbara and her friends and family. So if you have to empty your bladder before joining the kids on the trampoline and know a prolapse has nothing to do with structural engineering, you’ll be amused, delighted and even comforted by the play.”
Rebecca is best known as receptionist Amy Howard on Casualty as well as her roles in Holby, Doctors, Kerching, Wycliffe, Pie in the Sky and A Pinch of Snuff. She was also a regular presenter on Loose Women and took part in Call My Bluff and Celebrity Ready Steady Cook.
