The award winning team at the Mewes Veterinary Clinic in Haywards Heath have raised £500 for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
Principal Vet Julia Mewes said “We would like to thank our wonderful clients and all the members of the public who have supported our recent events to raise such a great amount. We held events at the Bolney Dog Show, Plumpton College Open Day, the Cuckoo Fayre in Cuckfield and within the Clinic, including a raffle and an auction.
We would also like to thank Pauline Fowler Photography, The Bent Arms in Lindfield, and Canon cameras for donating prizes, and David Turner for auctioning them.”
Pet owner, Gill Evaroa won £100 worth of pet food of her choice donated by The Mewes Vets. She said “You can only imagine how delighted Sapphire was to win 2 months of her very favourite dog food – Royal Canine German Shepherd complete dog food. Sapphire is a 3 year old German Shepherd and was rescued from Battersea Dogs Home as an 8 week old hand reared puppy by her owner Gill Evaroa, the Editor of the Mid Sussex Family Grapevine. Sapphire is easy to recognise as she has one blue eye and loves being a petting dog at a local care home”.
Robert Goldsmith of the Central Sussex Branch, Guide Dogs for the Blind Association said “Words cannot express my thanks to The Mewes Vets for their wonderful support for Guide Dogs for the Blind. I know that they take our box to events so I should not have been surprised to have found it was full again. But I have never had a box with so much money in it!”
The team at the Mewes Vets recently won the Customer Service Award in the JSPC Business Matters Awards.
