Care business issues tackled at seminar

Adams & Remers LLP is hosting a seminar for care home owners and managers – Home Truths, in association with Chandler & Co on Thursday 30 June at Jury’s Inn, Brighton from 2pm.

The seminar will provide practical advice about current issues and best practices for running and developing an effective and profitable business in this sector. Speakers will cover the key issues and legislation changes which care home owners and managers need to be aware of in order to run their business successfully.

Speakers from Adams & Remers include Solicitor Marcel Bradbury, who specialises in the care home sector and has over the last 15 years has advised both large multi-site operators and smaller one home operators in respect of their acquisition, sales and refinancing.

Simon Mitchell, Associate who specialises in wills and powers of attorney, probate, taxation, estate planning, court of protection work, advising elderly clients and trust work.

Simon Jones, corporate partner who advises on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, start-ups, limited liability partnerships and general corporate advice.

Cathy Hoar, Associate who advises on all aspects of the employment relationship including appointment, termination, day-to-day issues, discrimination and redundancy.

From Chandler and Co there will be director Jonathan Jex who is a surveyor specialising in Capital Allowances and Steve Jenner, partner who is deals with raising funding for both experienced operators and new entrants to the sector.

Finally, Andrew Cook, compliance manager at the Care Quality Commission who leads a team of inspectors that ensure provider’s continuing compliance with regulations.
