A dream has become a reality for Brighton beauty Kirsty Brachman, who has made it to the England final of Miss EARTH at the Winter Gardens Grand Final in Weston-Super-Mare.
Kirsty was successful in qualifying for the competition, which aims to find a green, glam and gorgeous girl to represent Brighton in the Miss Earth finals and hopes to go on to win one of the UK's most prestigious beauty pageants.
Kirsty is now set with a challenge in her bid to become Miss Earth. She is to help promote a cleaner and healthier environment in her local community, for the chance to walk away "The Green Award winner” on the night, and is also set with a challenge to raise funds for Miss Earth's community project 'Girls4Trees', where funds raised from participation in Miss Earth will go to organisations and school's to help fund street clean ups and community projects. Organisations are requested to submit there bid to benefit from the funds raised from our Miss Earth finalist's.
Kirsty expressed how excited she was to be able to promote such a campaign through Miss EARTH, and hopes to go on to win so she can help transform Brighton and surrounding areas as part of her challenge to win. Kirsty who is currently working in a fish pedicure salon where her job consists of washing peoples feet before they go into the fish tanks said, it's kind of like i've gone from washing peoples dirty feet to being a beauty queen!
Miss Earth is celebrating it's 12th year of beauty and responsibility as an international televised beauty and award ceremony. Miss Earth is unique in terms of beauty awards across the globe as it has a positive message of promoting environmental awareness and promotes a clean and healthy lifestyle. Contestants must have a strong knowledge of their country’s culture and environment in order to fulfil the ideals of this competition.
After the eventual eco-beauty winner is crowned she will join over 100 country's vying for the chance to become an Ambassador for environmental protection campaigns worldwide and hopes to win and bring the Miss Earth 2012 crown home. The current Miss Earth, Roaxanne Smith from Birmingham describes her time at the international Miss Earth : “It was such an amazing experience to take part in one of the world’s biggest beauty events with a difference! I learned so much about the importance of protecting the environment and that even small changes can make a big difference”.
