Following on from the successful launch of the UK’s first ever 4DX auditorium in Cineworld Milton Keynes earlier this year, Cineworld Crawley is delighted to announce it will be the third cinema in the country to house the revolutionary cinematic experience, having recently announced a second 4DX auditorium will be installed in Cineworld Sheffield at the end of October 2015.
Hailing from South Korea and considered to be the biggest innovation in cinematic technology, the Cineworld Crawley 4DX auditorium will stimulate all five senses through high-tech motion seats and special effects such as wind, fog, lightening, bubbles, water, rain and scents. Available in both 2D and 3D formats, 4DX works in perfect synchronicity with the action on screen – creating the most exhilarating cinema experience yet.
4DX has been adopted by the big Hollywood Studios with over more than 200 movies, including top blockbusters such as Avengers: Age of Ultron and Fast and Furious 7, screened in 4DX. 4DX recently received ‘Cinema Innovation of the Year’ award by I3DS International 3D & Advanced Imaging Society) and has been highly praised by famous film directors such as Alfonso Cuaron of Gravity, who showed interest in making future projects in 4DX.
The 4DX auditorium, which is soon to be under construction – will take approximately two months to complete, will boast a fully immersive experience with 136 specially designed seats, plus a curved screen measuring 12m by 6.6m.
In addition, the new Crawley 4DX will include the brand new ‘rainstorm’ effect – an even more immersive experience which will bring to life on-screen inclement weather simulations.
The 15-screen cinema will also be getting a full upgrade with new spacious seats installed in every screen, as well as the foyer, bar area, concessions, and box office refitted, offering a next generation cinema experience.
