Outreach Singing Workshops

The Eastbourne Gilbert and Sullivan Society tells The Sussex Newspaper that they have made a successful bid to the Big Lottery Fund which will enable the Society to provide free singing workshops to the people of Eastbourne.

The Society told TSN:
–    Throughout the year we will hold blocks of workshops at different venues around the town endeavouring to serve folk near to where they live.

–    Although in ’blocks’ of 5, and can be viewed as a ‘course’ every session is individual so there no need or expectation  to attend them all.
No experience is necessary, and there is no expectation of commitment.
Even if you think you can’t sing!  We just want you to try it!

–    Our first group of workshops are on Mondays at St Elisabeth’s Church, starting on 29th June. Look out for details.

–    Singing is proven to benefit Physically, Emotionally and Socially. Research suggests that singing releases endorphins which can reduce pain sensation and boost mood.

–    Singing can improve posture, breathing and circulation as well as facial muscle tone.

–    Singing can Increase self-esteem and confidence; provide release from every day tensions.

–    We formed in 1968 and are a friendly bunch. We have seen our members gain from the social and health benefits and this is an opportunity for us to show others how singing can bring pleasure can be enjoyed on so many levels.
