After years of planning and months of careful restoration, a 17th Century corn threshing barn at Lower Roundhurst Farm welcomed its first guests last weekend for an intimate wedding. Now the owners are inviting all local people and businesses to their Open Day on June 21st, to tour the spectacular oak-beamed building and see the six luxury B & B bedrooms created in the outbuildings around it.

“The great British weather and torrential rain has certainly proved challenging during our building work for the last 8 months” owner Moya Connell explained. “But we are thrilled with the results and the feedback from guests. We have taken so many bookings in such a short space of time, it’s wonderful how our vision for something a little bit special is being shared by others.“

Lower Roundhurst Farm is a well known organic farm just outside Haslemere, which has benefits for the new accommodation.

“The chickens wandering around the grounds provide our eggs every morning and we have homemade afternoon teas and picnics available” Moya commented. “We think that sumptuous linen, fluffy towels and a great breakfast are three essentials for a fantastic bed and breakfast experience.”

Being on the cusp of Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire, guests to the Barn at Roundhurst will have unfettered access to stunning views and walks in the South Downs National Park. These were certainly appreciated by one of the first guests to stay at the venue, Deborah Nicholls from Surrey. “'A beautiful setting, stunning accommodation and wonderful hosts” Deborah enthused. “It’s a perfect location for a romantic getaway or rejuvenating retreat...we loved it!”

People are welcome to look round the barn, bedrooms and gardens for themselves on Thursday 21st June from 3 – 8pm. Refreshments will be provided.

“We hope the weather is better than it has been during the development” Moya giggled, “But either way, the welcome is always warm and everyone can enjoy the inside spaces we’ve created. Just turn up, have a wander around and enjoy a little food and drink with us.“
