In a World so Full of Greed!

I found this line in a hymn (In a World so full of Greed) that I sang at my Church last Sunday and the words were written in 1962 and at that time the person who wrote them must have witnessed the same greed that persists today.

Everyone talks about peace being the ultimate goal in life and though I don’t want to think like a pessimist I have to agree that it is unlikely to happen for as one country bombs another country out of existence and it comes to an end, another country starts the ball rolling against another country and in a way it all boils down to greed – the country that is receiving unwanted attention in the form of outright slaughter is supposed to have something that the aggressor wants and yet when the country has been reduced to rubble and there is nothing left to salvage – what was the point?

Each country that has been involved with what has happened to Syria seem to blame each other for the mess they have caused and the damage has been so great that the people are desperate to leave their once peaceful country to the so-called victors of inhuman and wanton destruction.

Bombing hospitals is perhaps the lowest act that anyone could possibly do to a war-torn country and now comes another blow when embargoes have been introduced on foreign travel that has been intimated by the new President of the United States when his country was involved in doing some of the damage to the country I have mentioned.

I can understand some of the dangers that free travel can cause problems with terrorists, but does he not recognise that democracy has been thrown out of the window when the first President of the United States introduced and endorsed this as part of their constitutional right for freedom of speech and movement – but then, I must add failed to make it law according to the transcript of the Constitution.

My attention was drawn to a piece in the Constitution that starts with “WE THE PEOPLE” in Article One – Section 10.  America in peace time may not engage in warfare with another State or Foreign Country.  Obviously this has been overlooked several times.

The more I read the headlines from World Leaders I honestly believe that President Trump has gone too far!
