Seaford Musical Theatre Juniors performed a fun one-night Country & Western themed show to a packed audience last week, raising funds to produce their next show, the 1950’s themed musical ‘Grease’.
The show was set at a town picnic in Tennessee and was compared by Josh Henry, who will be the Junior Assistant Director for Grease. Songs from Country greats such as Patsy Cline and Glen Campbell lined up alongside modern stars such as Shania Twain and Little Big Town. Line dancing demonstrations by the cast kept the audience enthralled but the highlight of the evening was a surprise ‘flash mob’ of the performers mum’s who had been secretly learning a line dance from YouTube clips filmed by SMTJ Director, Paula Woolven.
The whole audience rose to its feet to take part in the finale song ‘Country Roads’ and once again the Barn Theatre in Seaford rocked with fun, music and laughter.
Grease is being performed in April 2014 and tickets are now on sale at www.ticketsource.co.uk/thebarntheatre. Cast photo’s by kind permission of Frozen In Time Photography.
