Local DJ announces 24hr live set in aid of NHS charities

BURGESS HILL: Local DJ Graham Meeres today announces that he will be playing a gruelling 24hr live set in aid of the NHS this weekend. Starting 6pm on Friday 8th May, he will DJ non-stop through the night, finishing at 6pm on Saturday. The final two hours of the set will be that of his popular weekend trance anthems show, dubbed the ‘Kitchen Rave’ where he has his biggest following.

Meeres, who has been DJing for 20 years says “for the last five years, DJing has been a sideline to my day job. However, since being in Lockdown and subsequently furloughed, I have been putting my energy and passion for music into doing a lot of Facebook live DJ sets.”

“For several weeks now I’ve been regularly getting between 700-1,200 people watching live and tens of thousands of views and comments of overwhelming support from complete strangers, thanking me for giving them something to look forward to during Lockdown. I’ve been blown away by the support.

“Two weeks ago I raised £1,200 for the Mental Health Foundation just by asking my viewers of my Facebook page to donate after my 2 hour show if they had enjoyed the music. The motivation for this was all the comments from people thanking me for helping them get through a very difficult day or week and that my show is the only thing that gets them through these tough times. With that in mind, I decided that I want to take this to the next level.”

The 24hr live DJ set will play over 16 different genres of music through the DJ Graham Meeres Facebook page to raise money for our beloved NHS Charities. The Just Giving page which launched just last Thursday has already raised £1200+ and Meeres will even be auctioning off a specially made T-Shirt for the event (see which has already had a bid of £200 by one of his supporters).

Meeres continues “my mum works for Hastings Conquest Hospital in East Sussex and I know how much this will mean to her and her colleagues and all NHS heroes from around the country, many of whom log in every Saturday when they are either off duty, on a short break or have me playing in the background in their Hospitals.”

The Kitchen Rave is reaching all corners of the globe, with messages being sent from Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Spain, Italy, Greece, Finland.
