Seaford Musical Theatre held a special preview show of Beauty and the Beast on Sunday 5th January for members of local charities including Mencap, Fitzroy (formerly Searchlight) and the Seaford Downs Syndrome and Special Needs Support Group.
Thanks to tireless fundraising by theatre members, and generous support from the Keith Baker Charitable Trust, the special needs groups were able to bring wheelchair users and members with mobility problems for the first time as the theatre has just completed its disabled access and inclusive washroom facilities. The audience of over 70 joined in with the sing-along songs, laughed at the one-liners and enjoyed the array of dazzling costumes on stage.
Beauty and the Beast starts its run on Friday 10th January at the Barn Theatre, Saxon Lane, for two weekends – including afternoon matinees – and tickets can be purchased online at : www.ticketsource.co.uk/thebarntheatre or from the Tourist Information Centre, Church Street, Seaford, during office hours.
