So it’s World Poetry Day this Thursday 21st March, and that has come round again very quickly I think. To that end then I’m getting in early to post my annual poem and a few other notes too, (do re mi?)….
AFTER a relative “dormant poem writing period” (although my continuing ideas were noted) following my 6th book being published in November 2018, and with just a few poems written, I have now penned eleven new poems in the last week. As usual they are across my regular 4 sections romance, humour, reflection and tragedy. My seventh book is well under way!
Hitting the heights, and O M G !!!! ?
I sent one of my latest poems “ Sensations of Love” to Magic FM National Radio the other night, (Monday March 18th) and got amazing feedback as “ stunningly beautiful” and mentioned and further complimented on my books “Laurie sells for charity Help for Heroes” etc. WONDERFUL !!!
Tremendous publicity and a big “thank you” to the excellent Lynn Parsons of “Mellow Magic” 20.00 to midnight Monday to Friday.
My poem then, and from my 6th and latest book comes “Where are You Now?”
Where Are You Now?
The softest intrusion on my heart
Took all my love somehow.
Making those marks last forever,
But just where are you now?
Though my heart knows the answer
And all of the reasons why,
I have to ask the same question
And accept it with a sigh.
For the ways of love aren’t simple
Even if the feelings are strong.
Because it’s easy to see everything
And yet still get it all wrong.
So my heart continues to ask
What it really needs to know,
But sees it cannot have answers
Even if all directions show,
Those paths we trod in unison
With the same song in our heart.
For understanding was there to see,
That we would soon be apart.
But just where are you now?
Those echoing words shout loud.
Knowing the location of your soul
Where a memory now lives proud,
Still recalling a symphony of love
With expression of our ecstasy.
For I gave out all I could give,
As you belonged to me.
Thus I’m sure you can still hear
A hearts voice making a vow.
That it will never, ever give up,
And find where you are now!
