Ice Rink Opening Goes Live to the Nation

This year, for the first time ever, there will be live streaming, from the Calverley Grounds, of the opening of the Tunbridge Wells open air ice rink so people who cannot get to the rink can watch what’s happening on their computers. You can go straight to the live stream by using the link www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrbfFLaPfWc or alternatively you can access the live stream via www.tunbridgewellsatchristmas.com or the Ice Rink you tube channel www.youtube.com/user/TunbridgeWellsXmas

Building on the success of their superb time lapse film of the Tunbridge Wells ice rink build, Dark Horse Digital will be streaming the opening of the ice rink on Friday 20th November live from a production unit in one of the traditional wooden chalets. Cameras, microphones and play-in studio graphics will be set up to record the ice rink opening.

The live stream will begin at 6pm from Calverley Grounds with the arrival of local percussion and drumming Samba band Bloco Fogo, and will continue with solo and group ice skating performances by Gillingham Silver Blades and the Mayor officially opening the ice rink. The feed will go live to YouTube for those who want up-to-the minute information about the ice rink opening and for the opportunity to join in the festive fun from the comfort of your living room.

Owners Sasha Fromeyer and Paul Daniels say: “Web video filming is what we do. We could just shoot the opening and throw it up online however, adding a live element will build excitement and social media chatter. The social media community can not only read all about it, they can click through and see what everyone’s talking about as it happens.”

Dark Horse Digital is a TV Film and Video Production Company based In Tunbridge Wells. They offer streaming services and event filming for companies and individuals around the country, and have produced numerous radio and TV adverts.

The ice rink will be open seven days a week from Friday 20th November 2015 – Sunday 3rd January 2016 (closed Christmas Day). The outdoor ice rink situated within the natural amphitheatre of Calverley Grounds offers spectacular views of the park and really is a unique and special festive experience. This year the rink is going to be even bigger – with capacity for 250 skaters, and due to popular demand, extra morning parent & toddler sessions have been added.

Tickets can be purchased in person at Assembly Hall Theatre Box Office, online at www.tunbridgewellsatchristmas.com and by calling 01892 554645. The onsite ice rink Box Office opens on Friday 20th November.
