Louie Spence Brings Hastings Some Christmas Magic

The White Rock Theatre in Hastings has announced that Dancing on Ice Judge, dancer and West End theatre sensation Louie Spence will star as Slave Of The Ring in this year’s magical family pantomime, Aladdin.

A long-time actor and dancer, Louie became a household name when he appeared on Sky1’s smash-hit series Pineapple Dance Studios. One of the most flamboyant characters ever to grace a documentary series, he won an army of fans, spring-boarding his own series Louie Spence’s Showbusiness, which captivated audiences nationwide.

More recently Louie has appeared on TV as one of the Judges on ITV’s Dancing on Ice, went all-out to plan a wedding in Celebrity Wedding Planner for Channel 5, worked as Entertainment Correspondent for ITV’s Daybreak and last year entered the Big Brother House in Celebrity Big Brother.

Louie’s work as a professional dancer has seen him tour the world with Take That, E17, 2 Unlimited, Boyzone, Eternal, Björk, Kavanagh, Kim Mazelle and Jocelyn Brown, and he was one of only five professional male dancers to accompany the Spice Girls on their debut Spiceworld tour.

In the West End Louie was part of the original award-winning cast of Miss Saigon, where he helped to create the show’s thrilling acrobatics and went on to perform as Mr Mistoffelees in Cats before joining the Pet Shop Boys musical Closer to Heaven.

Louie’s international stardom has seen him voted one of the Top Ten Reality Show Judges in America.

Daryl Back, Producer of Aladdin, who produced last year’s critically acclaimed performance of Dick Whittington at The White Rock Theatre, said “We couldn’t wish for a more talented Genie for our pantomime in Hastings this Christmas. Louie is known to the nation not just as a sensational dancer but his unique performance style will also add some fantastic comedy to our family show.”

Michael Cross, Theatre Director at the White Rock Theatre said “We look forward to welcoming Louie to the White Rock Theatre this Christmas. His energy and great sense of fun will appeal to audiences of all ages. He will add extra sparkle to this glittering production.”

Tickets for Aladdin, which runs at the White Rock Theatre, Hastings from Friday 12 December 2014 to Sunday 28 December 2014, are already available from whiterocktheatre.org.uk
