New Glasses Bring Success

Defining what success means to you provides a basis for achieving your goal. I saw all the glamour and glitter of celebrities, wealthy people, and leaders of the world. After my ballet performances, when I was a little girl, I believed my success was having my name in lights on a marquee. Over the last thirty-three years, the implications of traditional success have changed for me.

When I was married, my husband’s intense focus was to become a millionaire as his best friend from the neighborhood became. His motives came from emotional and financial insecurity, lack of self-esteem and a strong will. Looking to fill his inner void, he left teaching and established a printing business. He was going to make his fortune and become successful. I continued my teaching job to support the family and worked long hours every weekend, vacation, and holiday in the business. I had two jobs for twenty years.

The economic roller coaster of interest rates and other influences affected our yearly business income. Finally, for health reasons we sold the business, got a divorce and went our separate ways. We divided our remaining assets, equally. His desire to be a millionaire took him to Palm Springs, California to buy commercial property during a low market. Ultimately, he became bankrupt after more economic dives.

Fortunately, my desire to be a millionaire was not my highest ambition. Because of illness, I medically retired from teaching. I needed to find a healthy life style. My new focus was to change my mind set to a rational, contributing, selfless member of society as an individual. Rather than selfish motives for success, I found it very rewarding to share and contribute to others. This manifests in feelings of success. Today, I know success comes from the inside and projects out.

Investing in new training and classes brought a new twist to my teaching path into counseling/hypnotherapy, writing, speaking, and teaching adults. Over a little by little progression, life began to flower. In addition, my financial investments increased steadily. With this new affluence, I paid off all my debts. I kept doing the next indicated project that was there for me. Most importantly, I learned to listen to my inner guidance.

Instead of pursuing fame and fortune, I attracted the right people and opportunities to me for a change in a new way of life comes together in wonderful ways as I allow it to happen. Accomplishing the foundation upon which to build comes first. Slowly my new motivation created a constructive basis. I altered my goal for a higher realistic consciousness, rather than an iconic status that is fleeting. Ultimately, it produced excellent results.

I have several different hats and talents that I take pleasure in and one or another seemed to become a focus alternately. My career was continuing to attract clients and opportunities with time off for vacations. However, I was concerned that my income would not be as big as my wishes and dreams. Learning money management skills and discipline paid off. Interestingly, I could cover my expenses and my needs were met.

Gradually, I began to feel better about my life and myself. Over the years, I realized that I had created financial security while enjoying my work. I found work less difficult and more fun. Through my singular motivation to change my life from past trauma and crisis, with a daily focus my career has moved forward steadily. In addition, I have become fiscally secure.

One Saturday morning I was driving to Seattle to present a program. My silent voice said, “You are a success”. I realized that my inner success meant more than my name in lights, a large bank account, or a huge following of hanger on’s. It was an inside job and the outward circumstances arrive from my inner mindset of helping others, being sincere, and caring. I felt terrific.
