Internationally acclaimed theatre company Tall Stories are thrilled that The Gruffalo’s Child is to follow in her father’s giant footsteps on a tour, which comes to The Hawth, Crawley on Monday 25th & Tuesday 26th June. This UK tour will showcase the production’s new set and costumes ahead of a Christmas season in the West End.

One wild and windy night the Gruffalo’s Child ignores her father’s warning and tiptoes out into the snow. After all, the Big Bad Mouse doesn’t really exist… does he?

Tall Stories’ magical, musical adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s award-winning sequel to The Gruffalo (published by Macmillan Children’s Books) is ‘everything good children’s theatre should be’ (The List). Songs, laughs and lots of fun for children aged 3 and up and their families.

The Gruffalo’s Child is produced by award-winning theatre company Tall Stories – a creative force whose productions include The Gruffalo, the Olivier Award Nominated Room on the Broom, The Snail and the Whale and The Snow Dragon. The creative team includes Director Olivia Jacobs, Creative Producer Toby Mitchell, Designer Isla Shaw, Composers Jon Fiber & Andy Shaw of JollyGoodTunes and Lighting Designer James Whiteside.

The company is a registered charity which tours the UK and the world with its exciting blend of storytelling theatre, original music and lots of laughs. Tall Stories was founded in 1997 by co-directors Olivia Jacobs and Toby Mitchell. Tall Stories shows have played in the West End, on Broadway, in the Sydney Opera House as well as all sorts of venues and countries in between.

Julia Donaldson is the outrageously talented, prize-winning author of some of the world’s best-loved children’s books. She was Children’s Laureate 2011-13 and has been honoured with an MBE for services to Literature. Julia and her husband Malcolm divide their time between West Sussex and Edinburgh.

The Gruffalo’s Child appears at The Hawth, Crawley on Monday 25th at 2pm & 4.30pm and on Tuesday 26th June at 11am & 2pm. Tickets priced £13 (Family of four: £40) are available from The Hawth Box Office on 01293 553636 and www.hawth.co.uk.
