The Dating Game

Your Perspective of Self – Part I

Who, What, Where, Why and When

Hello Readers!

Well, here we are again, post St. Paddy’s and post Easter, hopefully everyone surviving with fun and frolic and feasting behind us, poundage on the wane if all is going well.

Those of you who read my introductory column are aware of where we’re trying to go here and what we hope to accomplish.  Those of you who did not read that column, briefly stated, our goal is to share some words of wisdom, some mine, some yours, about dating in the professional world, regardless of age, gender or race.  Love is the universal language with romance and dating being an integral part of that beautiful bubble.  However, in this era of entrepreneurship, personal success, client development and career building, the path can be treacherous and wrought with disappointment and mistakes.  A guided journey is in everyone’s best interest and we hope to provide some regulations and practical insight to make that journey a pleasant experience while holding on to one’s integrity and maintaining a reputation to make your grandmother proud.

As they say, the best place to start is at Square One.  Before anyone embarks on any project or project building, the assumed first step is to analyze the entire situation listing the pros and cons involved, figuring out where the pitfalls may be and how you can complete this project in the most expeditious, practical and cost-effective way.  Applying all of this information to your own personal project building, if you have not been successful in the past and you continue to follow the same patterns leading to a non-successful completion, I would say to you, simply,  “What the hell are you thinking?!”

So . . . let’s make our lists, let’s analyze, and let’s start building from scratch.  One’s perspective of one’s self can go in many directions with underlying issues creating tiny little swerves and quirky little patterns creating a maze of existence sometimes beyond your own comprehension.  Does this sound complicated?  Well, dearies, you are very complicated as human beings and don’t let anyone tell you that you’re not.  But it is your job, if you hope to be an emotionally healthy human being and to be someone who has a healthy package to offer the world to take a step back and look at yourself very carefully.

You are obviously at a place in your life right now where success is just on the threshold for you and taking that step across will mold your future forever.  You want to make sure that everything you do and every relationship you encounter, be it professional or personal is handled with the utmost care and respect.  In order to do that, you MUST have your ducks in line and you MUST have taken stock of you.  Next time, I will lay out a definitive course for you to do just that and then, after we have defined this fabulously gorgeous human being that you will find yourself to be, we will begin our journey not into an abyss of pain and failure, but into a galaxy of glorious success as you gallivant the universe intermingling your professional and personal life, the envy of all those you encounter.  Sound good?  Tune in next time and get the clues.  They’re really good.

Your Fab Friend,

Sande D.
