Summer of Circus Festival Opens in Worthing

Barely Methodical Troupe return to Worthing for their ground-breaking second show, KIN, following hot on the heels of international smash hit Bromance, which saw a critically acclaimed, sold-out run.

KIN will be the opening production in Worthing Theatres Summer of Circus festival when it appears at the Pavilion Theatre on Friday June 16th and Saturday 17th. The family friendly circus season offers a total of 10 weeks of the world’s best contemporary circus acts, right through to August 27th.

The original Barely Methodical trio, Louis Gift, Beren D’Amico and Charlie Wheeller, are joined by an equally astounding group of 3 circus performers: Jonathan Bendtsen, Jean-Daniel Broussé and Nikki Rummer. Together, they form part of a new wave of modern British circus, an exciting mix of physical stunts, contemporary dance styles and innovative theatrics.

The visually arresting and emotionally vast (The Stage) show was the talk of CircusFest 2016, receiving standing ovations and five-star reviews. Their stunning second show, KIN, is about group dynamics and how they shift, evolve and provoke conflict, explored through high-octane circus skills, incredible feats of strength, hand-to-hand balancing, acrobatics and routines on a Cyr wheel: a large, spinning, steel wheel.

Barely Methodical Troupe met at the National Centre for Circus Arts where they found their diverse mix of skills offered them a unique chemistry: Louis started in parkour, Beren in martial arts tricking and Charlie in breakdancing. After their award-winning international hit, Bromance, the company return with KIN, an extension of their dynamic, one-of-a-kind style of performance.

KIN appears at the Pavilion Theatre, Marine Parade, Worthing, BN11 3PX on Friday 16th June and Saturday 17th June 2017 at 7.30pm.
