Eastbourne Holds An Opening Party to Die For!

The Devonshire Park Theatre will once again host a murder mystery season this summer as the acclaimed Talking Scarlet theatre company returns for a series of chillers, which opens with A Party to Murder by Marcia Kash and Douglas E Hughes from 14th – 18th June – and this is one party invitation you don’t want to miss out on!

It’s Halloween at a remote island cottage, as the wind howls and the night grows darker the tension is ramped up in this chiller which will leave audiences guessing right up until the final unexpected twist.

A group of five strangers have been invited to play a murder mystery game at a remote and allegedly haunted cottage – hosted by enigmatic thriller writer Charles Prince. But are all the guests quite who they appear? Will all of them live to see the sun rise? And just what really did happen to the ‘Phantom Five’ five socialites who all disappeared from that very cottage 25 years ago?

In a definite nod to the great lady of the Murder Mystery genre, Agatha Christie, this production features more twists and turns than a helter-skelter and is sure to keep audiences on the very edge of their seats. Nerves will be shredded as the plot shudders towards the unexpected and terrifying conclusion; audiences will be paying for a whole seat, but for most of the production they will only be sitting on half of it!

A Party to Murder stars Michelle Norris, Natasha Jordan, Jane Shakespeare, John Hester and Devonshire Park favourite Ben Roddy (Table Manners, Boeing Boeing).

The Murder in the Park Thriller Season takes up residence at the Devonshire Park from 14th June for a month and features four chilling thrillers: A Party to Murder (14th – 18th June), The Sound of Murder (21st – 25th June), Death Toll (28th June – 2nd July) and Jekyll and Hyde (5th – 9th July), season tickets are available offering generous ticket discounts, to book or for more information call the box office on 01323 412000 or online www.eastbournetheatres.co.uk.
