Hempstead Lane Play Area Opening

Uckfield Town Mayor, Cllr. Ian Smith, will be opening the new play area in Hempstead Lane at 12 noon on Saturday 28th September.
Cllr. Smith is encouraging everyone to come along and use the new equipment which includes something for every age group. There is an enclosed area with a variety of different equipment for children under 12, more adventurous equipment such as a zip wire and gyratory swing for older children and even fitness equipment for teens and adults.
The Town Council undertook extensive public consultation which culminated in a major display in the Civic Centre by a number of different playground companies exhibiting and explaining their ideas to the public who then voted for their favourites.
The ‘people’s choice’ has now been built, is ready to use and is already proving a big attraction.
