As advertised by the “ENTERPRISE SHOPPING CENTRE” as the cheapest parking in EASTBOURNE, I find that very hard to believe when having to use it last weekend when my wife became suddenly unwell and we had to visit the Railway Station where NHS Health Centre has been set up, after just one hour and 50 minutes I had to pay £3.50p parking charge.
It is obvious that the ENTERPRISE SHOPPING CENTRE is on a winner. Trying to equate how much an hour they charge seems to be an impossible task and trying to obtain a charging tariff for parking at the ENTERPRISE SHOPPING CENTRE seems to be TOP SECRET.
When are the Government going to give Local Councils strict instructions that they must repair roads with POT HOLES. There are many roads in EASTBOURNE that are in a DANGEROUS CONDITIONS causing many accidents to happen to vehicles and the drivers. Some roads that were repaired last year by the PATCHWORK PATROL sent out by the EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL have now deteriorated and the holes are coming back and the roads that were ignored for repair have deeper holes than ever.
Government and local councils always talk of safety on our roads and new speed restrictions are enforced and cock-a-mania ideas come out of the mouths of babes on how to fleece vehicle owners, but nothing is done to make our highways safe to drive on. We seem to be going back to the dark ages where un-adopted roads became dirt tracks and were considered normal.
When a driver joins a road halfway along its path, it would be nice to know the speed limit without getting a camera flash at your vehicle that you are speeding. Not everyone is fitted with a Sat-Nav gadget and not everybody has a Crystal Ball at their fingertips and if you are a stranger visiting for the first time in that area, you don’t stand a chance of pleading your innocence. Those sort of people that tend our highways are not interested in what you have to say, they just want your money.
Did we win the war? I’m not really sure! One has to admit that the country is far worse off now than it was during the war years. At least you knew where you stood. If those millions of men who died to keep this country free only knew what a mess it was in now! Just as well they don’t know.
I can’t really think of one thing that this Government has done that has benefited man-kind that hasn’t had a back-hand attached. Example: Your pension is going to have a 3% rise to begin in June 2014 – but you’ll be taxed by 10% because you happen to go over a certain limit. Although your pension goes up by 3% which is just one unit, there are many units that will go up at the same time – so you don’t feel the difference in a pay rise of any sort.
The people who have tried to save money have to live with the fact that the BANK RATE is set at 1% – so no help there for a comfortable standard of living. I’m one of the older factions who had sky-high bank rates to contend with and keeping my mortgage payments going was very hard and now at the other end of the line, I’m now finding it hard to scratch out a decent living because of the BANK RATE again being so low.
