Councillors talk about the safety and health of members of the public and yet the roads and pavements are in a terrible state of disrepair, left by local councils over many years because they have stated that the Government have cut their budgets. But it is noted that Councillors always have enough money to give themselves a hefty rise each year. If they had attended to the task when they had sufficient monies at hand and not let things lapse for five years without doing anything about the state of our roads and pavements, Eastbourne wouldn’t be in the mess it is now. With more claims from road users against EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL for damages to their vehicles, the Council’s budget has taken a bashing of high proportions.
Who is responsible at EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL for putting a CYCLE LANE in Devonshire Place Eastbourne up from the Memorial Roundabout to the Sea Front, which will ultimately cause a possible collision with cars that are parked in the centre of the road? A large vehicle, for argument sake a bus would have great difficulty in not getting its wheels over the cycle lane and with the added hazard of trying not to hit the cars parked in the centre. The ESCC must have over ordered white paint and some mindless woolly headed wally went on a painting spree and painted round the Roundabout at Memorial Square, found he had paint left over and decided to place a cycle lane a bit wider than the norm – a disaster waiting to happen. Vehicles will encroach on the Cycle Path to negotiate the central parking. Not a lot of thought has gone into this scheme of things. Perhaps the ESCC should start filling in the POT HOLES instead of drawing on the roads making them unsafe to use with their silly notions. Looking down from the air it looks like a giant flower – Devonshire Place being the stem and the petals drawn round the Memorial Roundabout – wasting TAX PAYERS MONEY AGAIN on something trivial when there are so many POT HOLES left to cripple vehicles and the public who walk along our uneven pavements.

D.C and his COMIC PARTY won’t have to dip into their own pockets for their party funds having secured their own network of rich people who have donated vast sums of money on the promise that he will ensure their taxes will be cut. He doesn’t care if the people who donate are not law abiding. He seems to be able to turn a blind eye to the unscrupulously rich who exploit the female gender so it has been alleged.
Blinded in one eye he will soon become completely blind in both eyes if he becomes Prime Minister again, especially when the not-so-well-off-people want fairer wages and the Pensioners want a decent pension that they can actually live on. I have just been informed that when I reach 80 this year, I shall get an extra 25p a week. Such extravagance from the Government. I am absolutely bold over with gratitude that I am worth an extra 25p per week! How will the Government survive giving this untold wealth to a person they only know by a number!?!
