Property owner fined for breach of enforcement notice

A property owner from St Leonards was found guilty at Eastbourne Magistrates Court last Friday (05 August 2016) for a breach of enforcement notice.

Pavel Curzen failed to comply with an enforcement notice served on him by Hastings Borough Council on 16 September 2015 under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 as amended by Part 1 of the Planning and Compensation Act 1991.

As owner of the land at, 22 Charles Road, Hastings, Mr Curzen failed to reinstate the boundary balustrade and entrance path to its original state in terms of appearance colours and materials by the required date, 18th February 2016.

Curzen pleaded guilty and was given a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered to pay costs of £342 with a victim surcharge of £20.
