The Elegant Way to Start an Eastbourne Christmas

 

The British Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and singers present a festive evening of sparkling Strauss waltzes, Christmas music and songs from Vienna with A Viennese Strauss Christmas Gala at the Congress Theatre, Eastbourne on Friday 18th December at 7.30pm.

Conductor Fraser Goulding, Leader Jeff Moore and soloists, Marilyn Hill Smith (the Queen of Operetta), International Tenor Andrew Forbes Lane and Jeremy Peaker (Opera North) perform in this wonderfully festive concert which is written and presented by Malcolm Mckee (from BBC Radio 4′s The Archers).

This annual concert which brings a flavour of Christmas in Vienna to Eastbourne is sure to get your festive celebrations off to a flying start. A Festive evening of music from the great Viennese composer Strauss, with a selection of timeless waltzes, songs and tunes including; The Blue Danube, Merry Widow Overture, Radetsky March and many more to waltz the night away.

All spiced up with music and songs from the great Viennese composers Lehar, Kalman, Romberg, Stolz including numbers from; The White Horse Inn, The New Moon, The Student Prince, Die Fledermaus, The Merry Widow, The Gypsy Baron and many more.

Of course no Christmas concert would be complete without a burst of traditional Christmas music, with a wonderful selection of carols including; Silent Night, Jingle Bells, O Christmas Tree and Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire. All that is needed is a large glass of gluhwein and a slice of strudel and you will be transported to Vienna!
