Beloved Bear Searches for the Perfect Hug in Worthing.

Blunderbus Theatre Company, who specialise in theatre shows for children aged 3-7, return to Worthing’s Connaught Theatre to bring their new production of Hugless Douglas to the stage on September 13th.

After their success with Dotty the Dragon and How to Catch a Star last season, the creative team at Blunderbus have created a new show, based on David Melling’s best-selling children’s book, which is filled with puppetry, laughs and plenty of opportunities for young theatre-goers to join in with the action.

Adapted for the stage by Bill Davies, Hugless Douglas tells the heart-warming story of a huggable, lovable young brown bear who wakes up one morning in need of a hug. Helped by his friends Mr Owl and Rabbit, Hugless Douglas tries to find the perfect hug, but none of them seem quite right, until he realises what he really wants is a big bear hug from his mum.

The show has been designed for children in Foundation and Key Stage 1. It is filled with participatory family fun, songs and happy hugging.

Blunderbus have been creating memorable theatrical experiences for children and their families all around the world since 1998. They perform for over 200,000 children each year at theatres, arts centres, schools and festivals across the UK and internationally. The team design and handcraft every puppet, prop and piece of scenery on-site at their company base in the heart of Sherwood Forest.

Hugless Douglas appears at the Connaught Theatre, Union Place, Worthing. BN11 1LG on Saturday September 13th at 2.00pm. Tickets priced at £8.50, family of four £28, are availabkle from the box office on 01903 206 206 or online at www.worthingtheatres.co.uk
